Dorothy cared for folks. Dorothy was a good friend. When I would pull into her driveway, Dorothy would make me feel, through her exclamations, at home: "Well if it isn't....what trouble are you bringing today?" - with, as the Cowboy Junkies say - 'a quick wit and a smile'.
The first winter season, we'll call it Christmas, that I worked in the Arctic on Great Bear Lake, Dorothy sent me a big box of Christmas baking - all her own, unsolicited. Now that's caring! Your spirit here always Dot.

Dear Nancy, Paul and Matt,

We were very sad to hear about Dorothy's passing and sorry that we will not be able to attend the service but are thinking of you all at this time. She was such a great lady and we remember so many great discussions with her on the front porch with her sharing the stories of growing up in her great Italian family. She was such a fighter and fought her way through so many health issues. She was an example to all of us.

Remembering your Mom with kindness from the times she came to the West Ferris Friday suppers. My husband would often tease her and she would tell him to “go to hell” which would encourage him to tease more. She even took a picture of us along with Helen Doucette and when she told him she did not know his name, he answered yes you do I am Mr. Go to Hell. He died a little over two years ago, perhaps they have already met in the great beyond. I sure hope so. With my sincerest sympathy to you and your family. Bev. Mills
