Martha (Baumgartner) Tschirky

Martha Tschirky (nee Baumgartner) 

Tschirky, Martha (1930-2024) - Martha passed away peacefully at Mississauga Hospital in the early hours on Easter Monday April 1, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph Tschirky. Dear mother of Susan (Daniel Tomchyshyn) and Paul (Ashly). She was a special grandma to Albert, Gregory, Philip, Peter, and Ethan. She is also survived by her brother Ted (Rae) Baumgartner of Flin Flon, Manitoba.

Martha was born in Montreal where she taught for 18 years, first grade and later high school chemistry.   After marriage, she devoted her time to her family. She enjoyed knitting, scrabble, skiing, golf, and crossword puzzles. After nearly 40 years in North Bay, she moved to King Gardens in Mississauga to be closer to family.   

The family is receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 9:30am until 11:30am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at noon, Father Daniele Muscolino officiating.

Donations to Holy Name of Jesus Parish or EWTN in memory of Martha will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
