Denis Gardner

GARDNER, Denis - It is with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to our dear Denis on November 2, 2018. 

He loved his family and close friends deeply, bravely forging ahead for many years despite great pain and suffering, always hoping for better days.  A life well lived included a passion for teaching elementary school where he coached extra-curricular sports, directed innumerable plays, and engaged children in bridge, chess and Odyssey of the Mind. Denis envisioned theatre for children by children, establishing Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre as a result, and writing two original, outstanding musicals.  He will be missed immeasurably by his wife Heather, son Jesse (Natalie), father Russell, sisters Sue, Mary (Len) and Kathy (Gates), as well as nieces, nephews, Monique Jolicoeur and close friends.  His creativity, sense of humour, love of travel, music, movies and fantasy novels and passionate following of the Blue Jays and  Maple Leafs brought him much happiness.

A celebration of Denis' life will be held at Emmanuel United Church, North Bay, on Saturday, November 10th from 1 to 4 p.m.  Stories would be welcome! 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.  We will miss you, sweetheart, love you forever, and be comforted in the knowledge that you are finally resting in peace.
