Eleanor (Gilfoil) Matton

MATTON, Gilfoil, Eleanor - On Tuesday June 11, 2019 Eleanor Gilfoil Matton, loving wife, mother of 5 children, grandmother of 14 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 89.

Eleanor was born April 18, 1930 in Sudbury Ontario. On August 27^th, 1949, she married Homer Matton in New Liskeard Ontario. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lois and William Gilfoil and her 3 brothers Bill, Jim, Alan, and her sister Shirley. She is survived by her husband Homer Matton and her 5 children. Linda Hummel (Ron), Gail Jackson (Ken), Debra Matton, Mitch Matton, and Kim Matton.

Eleanor was the most incredible creative, independent woman imaginable. Dabbling in painting, photography and wine making and always ready for adventure. She dedicated her life to helping others, volunteering with disabled children and being a foster mother. While caring for her own 5 children, she always put the needs of others first. She was the most amazing Grandma a child could dream of having!

Eleanor, Mom was sadly taken from us the first time 18 years ago, by Alzheimers. Now we celebrate her release.
