George Herbert Edwards

EDWARDS, GEORGE HERBERT (Herb) July 28, 1927 – April 21, 2019.

Herb passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.  Even in his final days, Herb embodied the values that he espoused throughout his life: faith, courage, and strength. Those fortunate enough to have known him had the great privilege of seeing him model how to live life with integrity and how to die with dignity.

Herb was predeceased by the love of his life and devoted wife of 69 years, Joyce Edwards, with whom he was awaiting to reunite.  Herb will be remembered with much love, by his children Lyne Dellandrea (Jon), Bonny Vossos (David), Craig Edwards (Jennifer) and Kelly Brown (Michael), as well as by his grandchildren, their spouses, and his adoring great grands.

Herb was a master craftsman, fisherman, hunter, and all around outdoor enthusiast.  He had a knack for recalling precise details, and measured time in reference to what vehicle he was driving in any given year.  Herb had a delightfully infectious laugh like no other that will continue to echo in our hearts and memories for years to come.

In honour of a great man, visitation will take place from 12 noon to 1pm at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES on Sunday, April 28, 2019. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1 pm with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Renal Unit will be gratefully received.
