Ivan Joseph Cole

Cole, Ivan Joseph, a lifetime resident of Sturgeon Falls in his 89th year.

Devoted and dearly loved husband of 55 years to Gloria (Cull). Cherished and revered father of Carrie and Vera. Lovingly remembered by Scott Marley-Clarke and Shawn Gilmore.

Ivan was born December 5, 1930, in the Cole family home to parents Joseph and Vera.  Ivan was predeceased by both of his parents in 1958 and later by his sisters Lorna, Joan and Myrna. He is survived by his youngest sister Marilyn (Haney). 

Ivan enjoyed a 40 year career at MacMillan Bloedel and devoted 50 years to Union Cemetery, serving as Secretary-Treasurer and Master Gate Keeper.  Ivan diligently managed the perpetual care of the property.  He acted as a liaison for families looking to inter their loved ones or locate their family grave site.  

Ivan was the consummate family man and will be remembered for so many fine qualities. Quick with wit and a turn of phrase, Ivan saw his life as a story to be told.  

We invite friends to visit Wednesday, November 6 at 1:00pm, St.  Mary Magdalene Anglican Church funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.  Private family interment at Union Cemetery.  

We shall anchor fast by the heavenly shore, with the storms all past forevermore.
