Ivy May Savage

Savage, Ivy (November 10, 1932- July 29, 2018)

Ivy looked to heaven, closed her eyes and passed away peacefully at her residence in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband Edward (1988). Ivy was the loving mother of Michael Savage (Catherine), Margaret Morris, Vera Cunliffe, Bruce Savage (Rose). Predeceased by two daughters Agnes Lodge (2015) and Elinor Shaw (2015). Ivy was born in Sturgeon Falls to Verner and Ruth (Delyea). Beloved sister of Gary Turcott (Betty), Ken Turcott (Fern), Lyla Lavigne, Vera Hurst (Lyle Predeceased), Gayle Flemming (Owen). Predeceased by her brother Bert Turcott. Ivy leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Ivy was an avid knitter, she picked up her first knitting needles at the age of 8 years old. Throughout her life she knitted countless mitts, scarves, teddy bears and socks for schools and the residents of Casselholme. Ivy worked for over 23 years at the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital. Retired in 1993 having worked 12 years in nursing and 11 years in the pharmacy. Family will be receiving friends on Thursday August 2nd at the St. Brices Anglican church,1225 Cassells street North Bay, between 7 until 9pm and on Friday August 3rd from 9 until 11 am with the funeral service to follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers, Ivy has requested that donations to be made towards the St. Brices Anglican Church. “ I prefer the money be spent on the living as the flowers I like grow wild in God’s garden and are mostly weeds, scotch thistles, stinging nettles and daisies.
