Jeannine Miller Obituary

Jeannine Miller (20 Aug 1928 – September 5, 2018) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Aunt, Jeannine Miller, née Brodeur on September 5, 2018 in North Bay, Ontario

Born in Timmins, Ontario, Jeannine was the third daughter of Georges Brodeur and Anna-Bella Gagné.

Predeceased by  her  husband, Ken Miller, her two sisters, Irene and Denise and one brother, Marcel  Brodeur.  Jeannine attended Teacher’s College in Ottawa in 1946 and started her teaching career in Timmins in 1947 at St Charles Separate School.  She then moved to Sturgeon Falls and while there applied for a teaching assignment with the Civil Defence Dept at the Canadian; Air Force  Base at Grostenquin, 30 miles from Metz,  in northeastern France, Jeannine returned to Canada in 1960 with a 1957 VW she purchased in Europe and with which she traveled all over Europe, venturing into East Germany where she crossed into the Eastern block at the famous Check Point Charlie on quite a few occasions. She accepted a teaching position at Camp Petawawa where she met and married Ken Miller on 1 September 1961.

Jeannine retired from teaching and traveled throughout the USA where she had many friends.  After Ken’s death, she continued to spend time at their Summer place at Cloud 9 RV park in Missouri for another 14 years. She spent her years between Elliot Lake, Oshawa, Verner, Sturgeon Falls and North Bay. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews and by all who knew her and called her their friend.

As per Jeannine's request, there will be no service.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
