Joan Ross

Ross, (nee Finlay) Joan Carol (1928-2019) – Joan passed peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday June 11th, 2019 in her 91st year.

She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Eugene Ross and her dear sister, Bonnie Devolin. Cherished mother of Jane McCann (Jeff), Ian Ross (Cindy) and Heather Yarlasky (John). Devoted grandmother of Sarah Jane Marshall, (Robyn Chandler) Rebecca Thompson (Denver), Jeff McCann (Robin), Kellie Ross (Dave Piette), Dr. Michael Ross, Kaitlyn Yarlasky (Sandy Burke), and Emily Yarlasky (Luke Morris). Proud great grandmother of Ryan, Eli, Lola, Noah, Hadley and Everleigh. Will be missed by Brian and Jeff Devolin, and Deborah Thomsen (Erik) Dania and Erika.

Joan was the heart of the family and always put everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She was completely selfless and devoted to her family. We hold onto the great memories of summers spent at the French River, (especially Grammy’s blueberry pie!)

Joan’s family thanks the special staff at Cassellhome for their loving care.  In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service, but rather a private family gathering at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Hillside funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations to SickKids Foundation or CHEO (cheque only) would be greatly appreciated.
