SAINI, Lucy Marie Elizabeth- (1941-2018)

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the family announces the peaceful passing of our dear sister and Aunt, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the age of 76 years.

She is survived by her twin sister Mary, her brothers Peter, Tony (Claire-deceased), Jimmy (Sue) and Richard (Cathy). She was the cherished and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews especially Christine, Michael and Marc who will forever hold very special memories of their “big brute bear”. Lucy was predeceased by her parents Michael and Amelia Saini, her sister Josephine and her niece Tracy Saini.

Lucy was a long-standing member of the CWL and the secretary of Holy Name Parish for 53 years before her retirement as well as a long time weekly volunteer and social butterfly at Cassellhome for the aged. She will be remembered for her unconditional love and support, her infectious smile and her attention to others.

We want to thank Dr. Oyeniran and the exceptional staff on C3 Palliative at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their kindness and care; with special thanks to Fr. Trevor Scarfone, Fr. Rex Lumine, Fr. Rene Perron and all the Eucharistic Ministers and Clergy for their prayers, presence and consoling words during Lucy’s illness.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Thursday August 2, 2018 from 2 until 4pm and 7 until 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 3, 2018 at St. Peter the Apostle Church at 10:30am.

Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Lucy to the “Congregation of the Resurrection” Re: Fr. Mike Cundari’s Bursary will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
