Marie (Galay) Robertson

Robertson, Marie (nee Galay) - The Robertson family announces with sorrow, the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on March 16th, 2019, in her 98th year at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Marie was born in Rorketon, Manitoba and was predeceased by her parents and 10 siblings.

As a young woman, she lived in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg, then later moved to Powassan. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, daughter Susan and infant son James.  Left to mourn her loss are children Trudy Hogan (Gerald), Greg, Helen Mallette (Garry), Anne Marie Gauthier (Roger), Fred, Francis (Lucy), Richard (Mary Anne), Lorraine Murdoch (Greg), son-in-law Gary Yates (Lorna), 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. 

She was devoted to her family and happiest in her kitchen. No one left her home without a care package and each year she made at least 40 Christmas cakes for family and friends. We will cherish our memories of a great lady.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday May 11th at the South Himsworth Centre Hall (Lions Den), 7 Glendale Dr., Powassan from 2 until 4:30 pm. 

Donations in her memory can be made to Nipissing Serenity Hospice or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Nipissing Manor and the nurses and staff of the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
