Mary Ruth (Sanders) Matlock

MATLOCK (Sanders), Mary Ruth Elizabeth (May 10, 1924 – October 18, 2019)

Mary passed away peacefully Friday October 18, 2019 with family by her side at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 95 years.  She was the proud mother of the late Virginia ‘Jenny’ Matlock.  She is predeceased by her son Steve Matlock, son-in-laws Gerry Horner and Brian MacMillan and great grandson, Zachary Croghan.  Her parents Jean and David Sanders.  Her sisters Charlotte, Jean and Peggy.  Her brothers Tom and Jack Sanders.  Mother to Charlotte Horner, Mary MacMillan (Tim), Joan Restoule (Dennis), Elaine Busby (Harry), Eddy Matlock (Debra) and daughter-in-law Dana Matlock.  She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

Mary lived a full life with many great experiences.  She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for three and a half years during World War ll.  She travelled to numerous places in the world with family and friends.  She was surrounded by love from all who knew her and will be greatly missed. 

A celebration of her life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 524 Belmont Avenue West in Kitchener, Ontario on November 17th from 1 – 2 pm.    A service will follow and a time of fellowship will be held after the service. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Virginia ‘Jenny’ Matlock to the Metobolic Clinic at Sick Kids Hospital.
