Michael Schiavone

Schiavone, Michael Joseph (July 9th 1935- June 30th, 2018)

It is with deep sorrow that the Schiavone family announces the sudden passing of Michael in his 83rd year.  Loving husband of Barbara (nee Johnstone).  Father of Linda (Carey Cook), Marilyn Leischnig and James (Adele Johnstone).  Loving grandfather to Dustin (Rachael Cook), Adrian Leischnig, Logan and Chloe McLellan.  Great-grandfather to Jayden and Keira Cook.  Loving brother of Antonia Schiavone (Zigmunt Kornacki) and sister-in-law June Schiavone.  Uncle Mike to Anna (Mark), Ricky (Michelle), Karen (Tony), Domenic (D’ana) Ronnie (Viridiana) and their children.  Michael was predeceased by his brothers, Stefano (Stan), Ronaldo (Ronnie) and his parents Marianna (nee Suraci) and Domenic Schiavone.  The family are receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services 362 Airport Rd. from 2 until 4 pm and 7 until 9 pm on Thursday July 5th 2018.  A funeral mass will be held at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Church on Friday July 6th, at 10 am interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  A special thank you to Dr. McKenna, Dr. King and all the compassionate nursing staff at North Bay Regional CCU.  Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice or the Gathering Place would be greatly appreciated by the family.
