Yvette McMillan Obituary

Very sadly our mother Yvette McMillan passed away on Dec.5, 2018 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Recent cardiac and kidney issues became overwhelming and after a strong fight she was ready to join other family members already in God’s hands.

Our mother was born August 13, 1931 in Ansonville, Ontario. She married Melvin McMillan in 1947. They raised their family of three children, Dianne, Jack and Ken in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She was a widow at 42 years old, after the death of her soulmate Melvin. A strong, hardworking woman, she moved on. A solid rock and shining example to her children. She worked many years as a personal support health care provider at the Teck Pioneer Resident in Kirkland Lake. She loved to care for people and this job suited her well. She retired from health care 23 years ago.

Yvette shared 25 years of her life with her partner Ron Lawrence, caring for him until he passed this year. She moved to North Bay, Ontario 11 years ago. Totally enjoying her life in her beautiful condo on the lake. She became a Red Hatter and sparkled at our functions. She touched thousands of lives and shared many memories with family and friends. Her love of life was infectious. Her smile lit up a room. Her kindness never ended, always the first to help care for others.

She leaves behind her daughter Dianne Cerka of North Bay, Ontario and her son Jack McMillan of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Her Brothers-in-law Basil McMillan and Keith McMillan of Kirkland Lake Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her precious grandchildren Terry McMillan, Micheal Cerka, Leighann Cerka, Monica McMillan, Callie McMillan and Ian McMillan as well as her beautiful great grandchildren Katie, Drew, Bella, Brody Riley, Jordan, Sydney, Abbey and Paige.

To all her friends and family ….. Her wishes for a beautiful Celebration of Life will be honoured in the spring as she requested.

Arrangements entrusted to HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES.
