Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Butch. He was a very kind boy. Kind to all living things. I consider myself to be an animal lover but Butch put me to shame when he would share with me his enthusiasm for his pet rats, lizards and snakes. As he grew to be a man his horizons were always expanding. He was always learning. Always trying to be a better human being. During my last visit with him he spoke with pride about his First Nations heritage and was eager to learn more. All the while his - year after year - his body was being ravaged by this terrible illness. Yet I rarely heard him complain. And always, always that smile. And that big heart. So full of love and acceptance for those he engaged with. i miss him already.

Sending my love to the Butler family and to all of Butch's family and loved ones.

Ahh I am so sorry for your loss. Butch was a great joy to teach here at CHEO and he was truly gifted! I loved to see his love of learning. He had a beautiful positive energy and natural inquisitive mind. He had a kind and warm soul and enjoyed every minute I spent with him.

Butch is remembered with great fondness by all here. Karyn and I often speak of him as teaching colleagues.

My sincerest condolences,

Reg Drummond teacher at CHEO

Allow me to offer my sincere condolences on Butch's passing. Working with him over the past 1-2 years was hard in terms of seeing just how ill he was but always uplifting in terms of his personality and frame of mind. He was engaging, always saw the positives in any situation and had the most amazing smile. He was close with his family and he was close to his heritage - he loved to talk about his indigenous creations.

Butch is a young person that will always live on in my memory.

We were all very sad to hear about Butch. My deepest condolences to your whole family. I'll never forget the first time I met him: my first shift at CHEO, and we talked about birds, and drives to North Bay and nature... he was incredibly bright, ambitious and that carried him well throughout his life. I pray that you can all find some peace during this difficult time with many lovely memories of Butch.

It’s with a heavy heart that I write these words tonight. Sorry to hear about your lost. I had the privilege to work and be part of Butch's Cheo journey. He was always entertaining with is various conversation subjects, he would always make us laugh. Never a dull moment when Butch was around. I met Butch when I was in a bad, kind of miserable state when I was in the hospital. Somehow he was able to perk me up, someone so positive despite being in a similar situation. I couldn't believe it. He proved to be a good friend and was so extremely kind to everyone he knew. There's nothing that can replace someone like you and it breaks my heart to see you're gone. You were well loved and you'll be missed.
