Summersby, Alison (1943-2021)
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces her peaceful passing on Saturday July 3rd 2021 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre with her loving family by her side. Alison was the loving wife of 53 years to Brian. She was the proud mother to Christopher (Jocelyn) and Jeffrey. Grandma to Kristine, Darren, Emma and Alex. She is survived by her brothers David and Peter (Gladys) and by her sister Wendy. Alison will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Living life to the fullest, Alison’s journey went from Trinidad, Barbados, Montreal, Scarborough and ended in North Bay. Alison was at her happiest when spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed many days watching her family in theatre, dance, gymnastics and especially soccer. She had a love for travel, vacations to Barbados, river cruises and many trips with her family. Alison was an active member of St. Brice’s Anglican Church and was involved in many activities at the Watersun condo. Alison will be remembered for her kind heart and her love for helping others, volunteering at a senior’s home, the soup kitchen and her church’s teen lunch. She welcomed all with open arms and a caring and warm smile. Alison will dearly be missed by all whom she touched.
The family will be receiving friends and family at St Brice’s Anglican Church on Wednesday July 7th, 2021 from 1 until 2:45 pm. A private service will follow at 3 pm at the church. In accordance with current COVID 19 directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the total number of attendees at the church is very limited and is by scheduled appointment only. The family would like to express deep gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences North, Dr. Truong and staff of C1 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for the compassionate care Alison received. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Brice’s Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
