Allan Dobbs

Dobbs, Allan- Passed away peacefully at Cassellholme Home for the Aged on Sunday May 28th, 2023 at the age of 84. Loving husband of Brenda Dobbs (nee Fournier).  Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Gertrude Dobbs,  brothers James “Jim” Dobbs and William “Bill” Dobbs and his wife Vi. He will be sadly missed by his nephews and nieces; Randy (Mikey), Terry (Leanne), Sherri (Marc), Margie (Eugene), Doug (Geri) and all their families.

Al retired from the Ministry of Transportation as Senior Municipal Roads Foreman. He loved his job and the people that he worked with in all of the municipalities in the west end of the MTO North Bay district boundary.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing with his “toys”. His snowmobile and 4-wheeler. For many years, he was active with the North Bay Hunters and Anglers group and was a long time member of the Conglomerate Hunt Camp.

Al had the soul of an Angel; a heart of pure gold, and a huge and hearty laugh. He will be so missed by so many.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 2nd floor at Cassellholme and the wonderful staff of B1 of the North Bay Regional Health Centre for the care and compassion given to Allan during his stay. Also, to Liz Brazeau and Tracy Farquhar for the kindness and support given during this difficult time. It didn’t go unnoticed.  

A celebration of life will be held at the Callander Legion, 345 Lansdowne St. on Sunday July 23rd, 2023 beginning at 1pm.

Donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre or to Cassellholme will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
