Arnel Lionel Perron

C’est avec immense tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès d’Arnel Perron le 19 août 2021 à l’âge de 86 ans.  Il laisse en deuil son épouse bien-aimée, Cécile (née Point), ses précieux enfants :  Marie (Tom), Liette (Paul), Donald (Hilary), Jean-Paul (Chantal) et Marcel ; ses petits-enfants et arrières petits enfants adorés : Robynne, Tommy, Allison, Alex, Nicolas, Jared, Lucas et Noah ainsi que Cody, Emma, Thomas et Grayson.  Il manquera aussi énormément ses frères, Rhéal et Ronald, ainsi qu’a de nombreux autres parents et amis.   

Il est né et a habité à Astorville toute sa vie, le plus beau village du monde (d’après lui).  Il a servi sa communauté en tant que conseiller municipal et membre actif de sa paroisse pendant de nombreuses années.  Il était aussi un « fan » du hockey, surtout au niveau communautaire où  on le retrouvait souvent dans les estrades des arénas locaux pour appuyer les équipes de hockey, surtout celles de ses enfants et petits-enfants.  Grand amateur de plein air et passionné de chasse et de pêche, il a été un membre fondateur et responsable de la gestion du camp de famille connu sous le nom du Camp des Pins pendant plusieurs années.

Les funérailles auront lieu le jeudi, 26 août 2021 à 11h00 à la paroisse Saint Thomas d’Aquin à Astorville.  La famille sera présente à partir de 10h00 afin d’accueillir les gens qui participeront à la cérémonie.  En raison des restriction en lien avec la COVID-19, la participation se fera sur invitation seulement et les  restrictions sanitaires en vigueur s’appliqueront ainsi le port obligatoire du masque.  Le service sera également diffusé en ligne pour ceux et celles qui ne peuvent y assister en personne.  (voir: https://www.ourabcparishes.com

La famille tient à remercier Dr Michael Leckie pour son soutien et dévouement au cours des dernières années ainsi que le personnel soignant et d’appui du Nipissing Serenity Hospice  pour leur accueil chaleureux et les soins apportés avec douceur et compassion à notre père lors de ses derniers jours.

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Arnel Perron passed away on August 19th, 2021 at the age of 86 years.  He was the beloved partner of Cecile (nee Point), father of Marie (Tom), Liette (Paul), Donald (Hilary), Jean-Paul (Chantal) and Marcel, the grand-father of Robynne, Tommy, Allison, Alex, Nicolas, Jared, Lucas and Noah and the great-grandfather of Cody, Emma, Thomas and Grayson.  He will also be sorely missed by his brothers Rhéal and Ronald and other family members and friends.

Arnel lived in Astorville throughout his life; having traveled throughout Canada he considered it the best place in the world to live.  He served the community as a councillor and active member of the parish.  An avid hockey fan, he spent many afternoons and evenings watching his children and grand children play hockey in the regions’ various leagues.   He loved the outdoors and was a great fisherman and hunter.  He was a founding member and responsible for the management of the family camp known as Camp des Pins. 

A funeral mass will be held at the  St Thomas d’Aquin parish in Astorville on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at 11:00 am.  The family will be at the church one hour before to greet family and friends who will be attending the celebration.  Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, participation will be by invitation only.  Current health regulations will apply and masks will be mandatory.  The service will also be broadcasted online for those who cannot attend.  (See: https://www.ourabcparishes.com/).

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Leckie for his support and dedication over the past years and the nursing and support staff at Nipissing Serenity House for their warm welcome and the gentle and compassionate care provided to our father during his final days.
