Beth Clark Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Mary (Slade) Clark

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Beth (Helen Elizabeth Mary Slade) Clark, who left us on March 3, 2024, at the age of 85, in North Bay, ON.

Beth was born in Montreal, QC, to Helen and Caple (William) Slade. She met the love of her life, Larry (Laurence) Clark, in Carleton Place, ON in 1956. Later that year Larry presented Beth with a promise ring for Christmas. Two years later, he proposed over a party line and shortly after they were  married on May 31, 1958 in Ashton, Ontario.  This was the start of 66 years of love, romance and travel. They honeymooned on the East Coast, then hopped on a ship bound for France, where Larry was stationed until 1962. In 1966, Beth and family moved to North Bay, ON. She spent over 50 years living on her favourite spot of all, Trout Lake.

Beth was an extremely skilled seamstress and creator of other beautiful craft work; however, what she is most famous for in our family, was her culinary skills.  Beth was an avid reader, introduced the family to cross country skiing and the love of cooking.  She loved people, loved to talk to everyone.  She opened her home to friends, family, neighbours and her children’s friends.  She also opened her heart up to all the birds and wildlife who came for their daily visits.  She could spend hours just looking at the beauty of the lake, and lets not forget the moon!

Beth is survived by her loving husband, Larry (Laurence) Clark and her children Brent(Rosemary), Aimée(Bill), Keith(Heather) and her 10 grandchildren: Krista(Phil), Jessica, Edward, Poebe, Keira, Brianna, Nathan, Maddison, Chloe,Devin; her great granddaughter Naomi, and her sisters Gail Green and Mary Slade.

Beth was predeceased by her parents Helen and Caple (William) Slade and her sister Linda Bromley.

Our family would like to express their deep gratitude to the wonderfully compassionate nursing staff on A3 and Dr Senior.

Cremation will be Friday, March 8, 2024.  A Celebration of Life will be held in North Bay on Saturday July 6th.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to NBRHC Foundation - Regional Dementia Care Program (Oak Lodge) (if making donation online under gift designation select other and specify Oak Lodge) or the Trout Lake Conservation Association.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
