Carmel Gilberte (Chayer) Bole

Bole, Carmel Gilberte (nee Chayer)  (July 16, 1932 – September 8, 2023)

We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear mother Carmel, on Friday September, 8th 2023 in the comfort of her room at the Au Chateau home for the aged, at the age of 91.  Beloved wife of the late Lyle Bole of Warren.  Loving mother of Ron (Louise), Diane (Gerry Gagnon), Robert (Jon Dundon), Michael, Mark (Louise), John (Monique) Peter (Liane) and Marc.

Proud grandmother and great-grandmother of many.  Predeceased by her parents Leo Chayer and Emela Chayer (Marion) as well as her siblings Rheal (Florese), Madeleine Sabourin (Roland), Bernadette (Leo), Jean-Marc (Moune) (Ila).  Also survived by her siblings, Cecile Brown, (Ken - deceased), Fernande McDonald (Brian), Roland (Rolly) (Claudette) and Rolande (Nenou) Sutcliffe, (Ronald - deceased).

Carmel was born in Warren July 16th, 1932. She was baptised at the St. Thomas Church and also married there on September 1, 1952. She attended mass at St. Thomas Church for most of her life and was an active volunteer for numerous church activities and events. All of her children were baptised and confirmed at the St. Thomas Church.

Carmel and her late husband Lyle were the proud parents of eight children which included one girl and seven boys.

Carmel was happiest when surrounded by family members but especially newborns and toddlers. She never wanted to be the centre of attention. Carmel also enjoyed - macrame and ceramics. As well, at the end of July and well into August for many, many years she could be found picking blueberries on nearby hills. Much of her time was also devoted to volunteering with the Warren Agricultural Society and St. Thomas Church. She will be missed dearly.

The family is receiving friends on Wednesday September 13, 2023 at 10 am for a visitation to be held at St. Thomas Church in Warren. A funeral mass will follow at 11 am.  A heartfelt thank you to the devoted staff at the Au Chateau for their love and dedication in caring for our mom, Carmel.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Au Chateau Home for the Aged (cheques only) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
