Larocque (Brazeau), Colette – 1949-2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Colette “Mimi” Larocque in the comfort of her home on August 22, 2023. She was 74 years old. Predeceased by her parents, Grace (Ferguson) and Donat Brazeau, as well as her loving spouse, Raymond Larocque. Also predeceased by her special friend, Charles Carnevale. Beloved mother of Carole Wolfe (Rodney) of Lavigne, Raymond Larocque (Zlatka) of Ottawa and Mark Larocque (Tania) of Sturgeon Falls. Mimi will forever remain in the hearts of her adoring grand-children Nicholas, Christopher (Liz), Brodey, Alexis, Jessica (Joel), Crystal (Patrick), Micaela (Lewis), Stephanie, Tyler, Sofia and her great grandchildren Maike, Ellie, Jensen, Stevie. Colette is survived by her sister Louise, and her brothers Marcel, Roger, Richard, Rheal and Ray. Predeceased by her brother Leo and her sisters Madeleine and Francoise. The void left by Colette’s departure extends far and wide, reaching her nieces and nephews, countless friends and many patients during her time at the North Bay Red Cross.
Colette was born and raised in Sturgeon Falls where she went on to raise her own children. She loved the people of Sturgeon Falls; she was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was always happy to volunteer wherever she was needed, but especially enjoyed lending a hand at “Les Filles d’Isabelle”.
In this time of profound loss, let us remember our mother as a one-of-a-kind woman who always did her best to help everyone she could. She was best known for her generosity and love for gift giving. Her straight forward attitude and ability to make everyone laugh will surely be missed. May our memories be a source of strength and inspiration as we prepare for a new chapter without her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 31st at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Sturgeon Falls from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm with a service to be held on Friday at 1130am at Eglise Sacre Coeur in Sturgeon Falls. There will be a luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall from 1230 to 230pm.
In keeping with Colette’s wishes flowers or donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
