Cynthia Ohlman Obituary

Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Lynne Ohlman, age 58, of North Bay, Ontario, passed away on February 7, 2020, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, following a courageous and hard-fought three-year battle with cancer. Cindy was in the presence of loved ones when she passed.

As per her wishes, there will not be a public funeral. Her immediate family have respectfully asked for privacy to grieve. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hillside Funeral Services.

Cindy was born in North Bay, Ontario on December 28, 1961. Cindy grew up in North Bay. She graduated from Ecole Secondaire Algonquin and went on to follow her artistic passion, graduating with a Diploma in Animation from Sheridan College.

Cindy returned to North Bay where she embarked on a long career as a designer/digitizer for Wrightway Sportswear. Her work can literally be found on the jackets, jerseys and hats of club members and sports teams around the world. Outside of work Cindy enjoyed a simple life, doing crafts, gardening, going for walks, and spending time at her country home in Rutherglen.

Cindy never married. She instead focused her energies on her family, her home, her work, and her hobbies. She had a great love of animals from a young age, and until recently always had a dog.

Cindy is survived by her mother June Ohlman (nee Ryan), her brothers Michael Ohlman, Jeffrey Ohlman, Stephen Ohlman, her sister-in-laws Tina Ohlman (nee Ferris) and Carmen Thierfeldt. She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Keita Ohlman and her niece Akina Ohlman, and other family and friends.

Cindy is predeceased by her father Vince Ohlman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family of Cynthia Lynne Ohlman wishes to thank the medical teams and professionals that supported Cindy throughout the last three years, notably, the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Health Services North in Sudbury, the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.
