Denise (Trépanier) Philippe

Philippe, Denise (nee Trepanier) (1931-2024) 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Denise at the West Nipissing General Hospital on September 15, 2024 at the age of 93.  Predeceased by her husband of 65 years Wilfred Philippe as well as their son, Brian.  Cherished mother of Gary (Louise), Robert, Percy (Linda), Don (Raymonde), Peggy Stewart (Brad), Wayne (Linda) and Theresa Lynne Philippe (Paul).  Proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by her sisters, Myrella (Barry), Jacqueline (Wilfrid), Réjeanne and Rita (Janet) as well as many nieces and nephews. 

An active member of the CWL for over 60 years, she was also part of the Ladies Auxiliary for 20+ years.  Denise was also proud to have been named as Canada’s youngest postmaster when she started work at the Desaulniers General Store at the age of 15.  

Family are receiving friends for a visitation on Friday, September 20th from 6 pm until 8 pm at Hillside Funeral Services 362 Airport Rd, North Bay.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sturgeon Falls on Saturday, September 21 at 11 am.

A heartfelt thank you to the attentive staff at both the North Bay Regional Health Centre as well as the West Nipissing General Hospital for their dedication to care.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to No More Tears West Nipissing Society or West Nipissing Food Bank would be greatly appreciated by the family.
