Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Douglas Wattie, 88, passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Doug was a devoted husband to Lorna (nee Leighton) for 68 years.  He was the proud father of Phil (Pat), Kim (Rob) and was predeceased by his son Garry (1975). He was the cherished Papa of Lauren (Dustin), Graeme (Katie), Jenna (Scott) and Kelsey (Nick). Loving great-grandfather to Adeline, Tatum, Jaxon, Ashton (predeceased 2022), and soon to be baby boy Wattie and baby boy DeGenova.

After a successful career at DuPont (ETI)  for 39 years, Doug retired and continued to enjoy life to the fullest. Doug had many passions in his life which included hunting, hockey, 4 wheeling, boating ,antique cars to name a few, but his greatest passion was to spend time at his beloved Round Lake cottage surrounded by his family and his many good friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but mostly by his family.  They meant the world to Doug and the void that has been left in their lives by his passing will be hard to fill.

Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd. on Saturday May 6, 2023 from 1pm until time of service at 3pm. Burial at Terrace Lawn Cemetery will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
