Eldine Young

With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eldine Margaret Young (nee Schriml) who left us peacefully surrounded by her family on April 17th, 2025, at the age of 76.  Eldine was born on September 27, 1948 in Sudbury, to Bertha and Tony Schriml (predeceased).  Beloved wife and best friend of Jack Young for 57 years.  Cherished mother of two daughters, Leanne and Jillian and Nana to her beautiful granddaughters Devan, Abby, and London.  Loving sister to Marlene Weston of Sudbury, Eldine will be especially missed by her extended family and many friends.

Eldine raised her family with Jack in Burlington, before moving to North Bay in 1990, where she continued to work in the medical field.  Eldine was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling.  This took her and Jack on many cruises both in Europe and the Caribbean. Many winters were spent in Florida where she met new friends and created memories that would last a lifetime.

Our family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at North Bay Regional Health Centre for their compassion and kindness in her care.

Eldine’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.  A Celebration of Life in honour of Eldine will be held on May 4th 2025, at Caseys in North Bay – 20 Maplewood Ave, 1:30pm-4:30pm.  Donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.

Her life may have ended, but her influence remains imprinted in the hearts of her family and friends.
