With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of George Morton, who passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 89 at Nipissing Manor.

Born to George Wellington Morton and Minnie (Wright) Morton on August 11, 1935, George lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep love for the open road. A lifelong truck driver, he was proud of his profession and earned multiple awards for his accident-free driving record—a true testament to his skill and commitment behind the wheel.

Off the road, George was a passionate NASCAR fan who spent his days off immersed in the world of racing. Whether cheering from the stands or watching from home, he found joy in the speed, the engines, and the spirit of the sport.

George will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and the love he shared with his family across generations. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements are entrusted to Hillside Funeral Home.
