Gerald George Giroux

Gérald George Giroux - After a 24-year battle, we regret to announce his passing on Friday, Sept 2nd, 2016.  Husband and soulmate of Viviane (Laperrière), father of Stephan (Christine Dudgeon), Sylvie Burns (Tom) and Proud Pépère of Eric, Mathew, Emilie and Myles.  Son of the late Jack and Régina (Bourque) Giroux he was the 5th youngest of 20 children.  

Known as Gerry by his Teamsters family and close friends, M’Oncle Jay to his 83 nieces and nephews.   He leaves behind his sisters Flora Taillefer (George) Louise Bilodeau (Jules, deceased). Raymonde Rancourt (Conrad), Jeannine Guillemette (Roger, deceased) and Colette Gravelle (Raymond); brothers, David (Claudette), Gérard (Nicole), Daniel (Rollande), Gabriel (Rex) and Réginald (Donna).  Predeceased by his sisters, Julie Bastien (John, deceased and Julien), Marguerite Champagne (Donat, deceased), Marianne Landry (Victor and Edmond, deceased) Bernadette Lebel (Victor - deceased), Rhéa, Rose Bilodeau (Henri); his brothers, André, Rhéal and Michel.  Also left behind are his mother-in-law, Gilberte Laperrière, sisters-in-law Georgette St Pierre and Hélène Champagne and brothers-in-law Henri and André. Predeceased by his father-in-law, Henri Laperrière. 

He was never afraid of the unknown and ventured out in numerous adventures including but not limited to Giroux Limousine Service “The Northern Connection” and councillor for East Ferris township from 1985 to 1991. 

His wife and children invite you to join them in celebrating his life Sat, Sept 17th, 2016 at 1:00 PM, Église Sacré Coeur, Corbeil.  A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at the East Ferris Community Centre filled with good food, memories, and laughter.  Our Dad believed that life should be celebrated, not cried over.   We wish to honor and fulfill his request.
