Gertrude Peplinski

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the unexpected passing of Gertrude “Trudie” Peplinski on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by the love of her family.

Trudie was predeceased by her beloved husband, David. She was the proud mother of Kevin (Lesley) and Kurk, and the devoted grandmother of Alexander, Liam, and Gregory.

She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends.

Trudie was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She spent countless hours crocheting slippers and throws to give to her family, tending to her garden, and baking—especially her famous Christmas cookies. In earlier years, she lovingly opened her home as a foster mother and worked as a hairdresser, always bringing comfort and care to others.

Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

Family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with the service to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated by her family.
