Gisele Evans Obituary

 

Evans, Gisele (nee Violette) 1951–2025

Gisele passed away peacefully at her residence in Sturgeon Falls on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the age of 74 years.

She was the loving wife of the late John Evans. Gisele is survived by her siblings Kim (Claire) and Louise (Guy Rondeau). She will also be lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Alice and Ernie Violette, and brothers Leo (Koco) and Robert (Purple).

Gisele was a nurse for 30 years at the hospital. She was well known as kind and generous. She had many beautiful vacation in Cuba with her husband John. Gisele had billeted young hockey players for the lumberjacks and followed all their games and to this day she still calls them her boys and is still in contact with them from Budapest, USA, Sweden. Gisele was always there for her family,

Gisele was also known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support of others. She donated to numerous causes throughout her life, always finding ways to give back to her community and those in need.  

A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 15th at 11 am at St. Andrew's United Church, 185 Holditch St., Sturgeon Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital in Sturgeon Falls would be appreciated.
