Gérard (Gerry) Filiatrault

With deep sorrow, we announce that our beloved son and brother Gerry passed away suddenly at his home in Orillia on November 2, 2025 of natural causes, at the age of 66 years.

Gerry was pre-deceased by his father Jean. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his mother, Parmélia (née Gagne), his brothers, Norman (Sharon) and Yves (Kathy), his nieces and nephews Stephanie (Dan), Andrew (Samantha), Brent (Mika), Sarah Filiatrault-Forkmann (Tim), and Chelsea Cleary (Marc), and by his great-nieces and nephews. He was loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. His jokes and sense of fun will never be forgotten.

Gerry's friends were his second 'chosen' family. He will be deeply missed by Bruce McCullagh, Paul Gonsalves and Mark Gatenby, and their families, who loved and embraced him as their own.

Gerry had a fulfilling career in restaurant management and later as a Communications Officer for the OPP. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and taking motorcycle trips with his many friends. He was happiest when tinkering with motors, driving fast cars and going to the shooting range. He always had a joke handy and loved to laugh.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, North Bay on Saturday, November 15, 6-8 pm and on Sunday, November 16, 10 am-12 pm, followed immediately by a Service at 12pm. Please join us for a light lunch after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
