Jacqueline Seguin Obituary

Patricia Jacqueline (Jackie) Cherita Seguin (nee Grummett)

January 25, 1931 – February 16, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful and courageous passing on her own terms at the age of 90 years.

Jackie was the beloved wife of nearly 68 years of Philippe (Phil) Séguin (predeceased). Loving, generous and very caring mother of Jim (Marilyn Cada) (Christina, predeceased) King-Séguin, Sheila (Larry Lanctot) Seguin, and Dan (Brad) Attwood-Séguin. Cherished grandmother of Jonathon King-Séguin, Nicholas, Jacqueline and Catherine Lanctot, and Matthieu and Claudia Lagacé-Séguin. Special grandparent to Jordan Cada, and Noah and Jake Attwood. Jackie was Aunt to many Séguin, Snell, Lowes and Grummett nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by Ron (Gail) Séguin, John (Selene) Snell, Sue (Gord) Blackwell, Shelley (Barry) Lowes, Marie Séguin-MacPherson, David (Christie) Séguin, Christopher Séguin, Willy (Nancy) Séguin, Jayne (Peter) Grummett Barra, Ron (Louise) Beaudoin, Ruth (Claire) Jennings, Ann (Roger, predeceased) Levert and Anda (Ken, predeceased) Alexander, Sylvie Lagacé and Al Snell.

Jackie was predeceased by her parents William John and Marie (Gaouette) Grummett and siblings: Raymond Grummett, Juanita (Sis) Snell, Lorraine Lowes, Sheila Anne Séguin.

Family was top priority for Jackie. She was a role model who provided loving encouragement, wisdom, guidance and support throughout her life. Jackie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, baking, Scrabble, cross-country skiing, and until she moved to North Bay, watching birds, butterflies and chipmunks at her home at Hi-Way Beach in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. Jackie was also an avid reader of novels. Jackie worked for 55 years as a devoted legal secretary, first for her father’s law practice until his death in 1967 and then for a number of lawyers, most notably J. Kenneth Alexander, until her retirement at the age of 72. Jackie will be sadly missed but will live on in the hearts and memories of all those who knew and loved her. We take comfort in knowing that Jackie is again in the arms of Phil.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rappaport and her staff, Shirley in particular as well as the nurses of A3 in the North Bay hospital, especially Jeffrey and Raymond for the exceptional care they all provided for our Mom.

In keeping with Jackie’s wishes there will be no service. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Hillside Funeral Services, North Bay.
