May, James Charles (Jim)
With sadness, the family announces the death of James at Cassellholme on March 8th, with family at his side. James was in the sixty-first year of a life well lived. Survived by his loving parents, Larry and Marilyn, whose lives he blessed, by his loving and beloved Sister Barbara, and by his Brothers Stephen, Bob (wife Laura) and Dan (wife Sharon), all of whom loved him dearly. Also survived by Nieces Lucy and Claire, and Nephews Jason, Jake and Xander. Predeceased by Nephew Cory.
James was born in Temiscaming, Quebec on March 17, 1959 and his Mom and Dad soon came to realize that their lives had been blessed with a very special child. They challenged him to do the best he could in every situation and, throughout his life his mantra always was “I did it myself”. His Sister and Brothers all came to love Jim, care for him, and involve him in their activities. They all grew up together. In his early years in Temiscaming, James played with the pack of kids who made up their own games in the back yards and laneways of that small town.
James was a people person. Wherever he lived, whether in small towns like Temiscaming or a large city like Montreal, Jim always had a very large Circle of Friends who were all very important to him. James loved music! He had a large collection of CD’s and regularly played his favorites while keeping time with his maracas.
Visitation will take place at Hillside Funeral Services on Thursday March 12th, 2020 from 6 until 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Church on Friday March 13th at 10:30 am. Cremation will follow the service and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a date to be decided by the family.
The family would like to thank all the people who cared for James, with a special thanks to the Management and Staff at the Community Living Ashdale Residence which was home to James for the last several years of his life.
