Jason Higgins Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of JASON Frederick Higgins, at the age of 48, after a short battle with cancer.

Jason was intensely dedicated to his family, especially and including his wife and soulmate Rhonda (nee Trudel), and their two beautiful and lovely daughters Emma and Hanna (pre-deceased).  He is further survived by his mother Lynn (Dennis, husband, pre-deceased), his older brother, Scott (wife Karli/daughter Fraysinet) and by his parents in-law Ron Trudel (Rachelle) & Judy Trudel.

The dedication and intense love Jay had for his family was unparalleled. He was someone who could tear apart and re-build both high-end mountain bikes and computer hardware equally, with the same intense precision and patience. His other recreational passion was of course fishing, and his brother Scott will be now lost on the water without his dear brother, as it was always the most fun ever.

Life is hard, and Jason would want you to be kind to yourself and to look out for others. Countless friends will miss his empathy and kindness, and he will most certainly be remembered as someone who was always willing to share the little material means at his disposal to help others without reservation or judgement, something Jay learned from his dad before him. Also, he would encourage those of you over 45 to make sure you get screened colorectal cancer.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Truong & the staff at A3 in the North Bay Regional Health Center as well as the emergency room workers, the staff at Care partners & VON, East Parry Sound Community Support Services and family and friends, all of whom were  amazing in helping our family through these trying times.

Family receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd., on Wednesday June 3, 2026 from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
