Jeff died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth Wickett and his father John Phelps. He will be missed by his daughters April (Brian), Vicki, and Katie, and his stepdaughters Shannon, Megan (Scott), Victoria (Kevin), and Emma, along with his grandchildren Ronan, Zoe, Isaac, Iris, Andrew, Lily, and Beatrice. He is survived by his mother June Phelps, his brothers Greg Phelps and Jason Phelps and by his companion Rita Scherba.

Jeff greatly valued his military service. After that, he was a truck driver for many years, before finishing off his working career at NBRHC first as a porter and then in medical device reprocessing. Jeff loved to serve others, whether it was working at the church campground, helping his children with building projects, or preparing meals and baking for the family. Jeff’s gruff demeanour covered up his generous and caring heart.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
