Anderson, John Christopher (1948-2022)

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of John Christopher Anderson at his home in Temagami on the evening of Monday, January 10, 2022. Beloved husband of Ann (Kirk) for fifty years.

Loving and proud father of Christopher (Melissa) and Patricia (James). Grandpa (Grumpa) to Jeremy and Isabelle. Brother to Martha Gibson (Rick-deceased). He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Irene Anderson. John was born and raised in North Bay.

In 1969, he fulfilled his dream of becoming an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police and served for 30 years. He was a proud and well respected member of the Cochrane, Cobalt and Nipissing Lodges of the Masonic Order and also 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite. He served as District Deputy Grand Master in the Province of Ontario in 2008-2009.

Family was always his first and most important priority, including his puppies who loved him unconditionally. He enjoyed camping, boating and hunting up Lake Talon with the James Bay Hunt Club. In his later years, he and Ann looked forward to their winters in Port Aransas, Texas seeing folks with whom they shared many good times creating lasting memories.

A visitation will be held Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 from 11-2 pm at Hillside Funeral Services 362 Airport Road, North Bay ON. As per current COVID 19 restrictions pre-registration to attend the visitation and/or service is MANDATORY. The total number of attendees is limited, social distancing requirements must be respected, and masks or face coverings are required inside the funeral home.
