Davey, Daniel John (1944-2018) It is with great sorrow that the family of Daniel John Davey announce his passing at the North Bay Reginal Health Center, Sunday April 8th at 9:11am.
He was born in Moosonee Ontario, August 15th 1944 to Henry and Clara Davey.
Dan was trained as a welder and worked for Terrace Steel and later was also employed by the TTC where he worked as a Bus Driver for 8 years in Hamilton Ontario. He then worked for Sandvik until his illness in 1996.
Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, loved to laugh, had a great sense of humor and a kind heart. He gave his life to the Lord in 2005 and walked with Jesus ever since. He was a great guitar player and had a wonderful singing voice, and especially enjoyed singing country gospel songs.
Predeceased by his father Henry Davey, brothers Bruce, Gilbert, Allen and Henry Jr, his step-father Frank Mitchell, his mother Clara Davey Mitchell, his half-brothers Elwood and Douglas Mitchell, and his half-sister Clair Mitchell.
Survived by his beloved wife Evelyn Davey and loving granddaughter Amber Sutherland. He also leaves behind his brother Oliver Davey, son Norm (Shelley), daughters Joanne, Kim Brant, Jen (Rob) Bowdrigde and their mother Joyce. Also his half-sisters Elizabeth (Willy) Dowdall, Shirley (Jack) Amos, brothers Gilbert Mitchell (Brenda), Donald (Gayle), Terry (Donna), Alex (Lynn) and step-children Christine (Al) Meharg, Edward (Jen) Buffalo, and Holly Rodrique (George Rose). He will be missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family are receiving friends for a visitation at The House of All Nations, 90 Carmichael Road, North Bay on Saturday, April 14th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Service to follow.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Hillside Funeral Services.
A heartfelt thank you, to the nursing staff of C! and in-patient physiotherapy staff of the North Bay Regional Health Centre for the care given to Daniel. Also thank you to Dr O’grady and all physicians who looked after Daniel.
