John Lalonde

Lalonde, John (1946-2020) – John passed away peacefully at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 73 years old after a difficult battle with prostate cancer.

John was predeceased by his devoted wife and best friend of 43 years Colleen (nee Goyer).  His family meant more to him than anything else in the world.  He was a loving father to Pat (Tanya), Michael (Ana Marie), Kelly (Chuck Smith) and Ted (Jessica). He was unendingly proud of all of his grandchildren Kyle, Lexie, Evita, Julian, Arianna, Samuel, Annika and Bridgette and always tried his best to support all of them.  The legacy of John’s kind and positive spirit and his zest for life will live on through them.  John is survived by his caring sister Maryann Couch. He was predeceased by his dedicated parents Percy and Patricia Lalonde.

John was devoted to the Catholic church, achieving 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was honoured and humbled, as a K of C, to volunteer at the Gathering Place many times over the past several years. There was nothing John liked better than an interesting conversation with a good (or new) friend. John could have an engaging conversation with anyone.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of John to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated by his family.
