Muzzi, Josephine (April 2, 1922 - September 21, 2020)

It is with great sadness the family of Josephine announces her death at Waters Edge Care Community on September 21, 2020 at the age of 98 years. Josie was born in Serra S. Bruno, Italy on April 2, 1922, then came to Canada with her parents when she was 6 years old. She was predeceased by her parents Bruno and Carolina Muzzi and by her brother Ralph and his wife Micke. She is survived by her brothers Bill (Judy) of Lindsay, Sam (Rebecca) of Huntsville, Tony of South River, and by her sisters Tina, Rose and Marie of North Bay. She will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews & their children and by her precious friends and Godchildren whose lives she deeply touched.

Josie lived most of her entire life in Toronto, only moving to North Bay in 2012. Josie’s greatest loves were her family, faith and friendships. She was an avid reader and great story teller. She loved to travel both internationally and domestic. Josie was an incredibly independent person well into her 90’s. Her last several months were difficult as she faced ongoing health issues.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Redhead, head nurses and the entire staff of Waters Edge Care Community who provided such good care, support and comfort to Josie throughout the last 3 years. A special thanks to the staff of Pier 3 who went above and beyond to keep Josie’s family involved in her care during the difficult time. A special thank you to Father Daniele and Father Rene. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus church on Saturday September 26th at 11am. Cremation and funeral arrangements entrusted to HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES.

In accordance with current directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario in regard to COVID 19 the total number of attendees at the church is limited to 80 and additional precautions are in place. Face masks are mandatory at the church. For more information please contact the funeral home.
