It is with heavy hearts that the we announce Kim’s passing at her residence on Wednesday June 23, 2021 from a courageous battle with cancer. She went peacefully with her loving family at her side.
Kim was the childhood sweetheart and wife to Paul. Loving & dedicated mother to Aaron and Alyssa Taylor, step-children Amanda Stanley (Richard), Sarah Reed and son-in-law Billy Reed. She was the cherished Nana to Kaleb, Isabella and Dallas Taylor, Brexton, Emma, Sydney, Brooke and RJ. Kim was predeceased by her parents Cecil and Eileen South and by brother Chris South. Survived by her sister Darlene South (Chris Venable), her brother Greg South and sister-in-law Lucie South. Greatly missed by her niece Christen South, nephews Josh and Nicholas South and niece Katie South. She had a special bond and will be sadly missed by her mother-in-law Rose Roberts and in-laws Peter, Joseph, Laura and Mary. She will be sadly missed by her uncle, aunts, many cousins and friends near and far.
Kim was born and raised in North Bay. Kim’s love above all was her grandchildren, they gave her the strength and courage to fight for her life and were the light of her soul who she cherished deeply and spoiled with love and affection. Kim was a strong, independent, and determined woman and raised her children with the same mindset and values. Family traditions were important to Kim and will continue on with her children and grandchildren.
Kim and Paul reconnected after two decades and fell in love. She enjoyed dancing and a good night in with friends playing card games and great conversation. Her peaceful place was being at camp and spending time with her family and friends around the campfire. She enjoyed traveling and it was her dream to one day travel to the east coast. Kim took great pride in the upkeep of her home and yard and could often be found puttering around even throughout her treatments.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pitre and Dr. Jinnah, the community care nurses and the PSW’s for the compassionate care they provided. A special thank you to Julia with VON who helped the family in her final hours.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Friday July 2nd from 1-3pm and 6-8 pm.
