Lyle George Thompson

Lyle George Thompson (May 15, 1938 - June 28, 2024)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing on the 28th day of June, of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Lyle Thompson, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family.

Lyle was the devoted husband to Ruth (Ferguson) for 64 years. Their years together took them from Sudbury where they met to Toronto (after the mine closure) where he worked at Good Year Tire Company.  The couple bought a farm in 1970 and moved to Sturgeon Falls but now as a family of 5. In 2007 the couple returned to Toronto.

Lyle was the father of Jamie (Janice), Jeffrey (Sherry), and Robert. Proud grandfather of Tamara, Shannon (Matt), Justin (Shayla) and Courtney (Mike). Great-grandfather to Jaxon, Ian, Tatum, Kennedy, Baylor, Ariya and Sawyer.

Lyle leaves behind his twin, Lynn, as the last surviving child (out of 6) of the late Cecil and Helen Thompson.

As per his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held in the Ottawa area in the near future. Lyle will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
