It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Madelene Duchesne (nee Jeanneault). She spent her final days and hours surrounded by family and her final moments in the arms of her daughter Pamela which is exactly how she would have wanted it on October 30, 2020, after an insufferable battle with Vascular Dementia. We believe she is at peace.
She will be sadly missed by her companion Larry Pineo. She was the dear mother to Dee McNamara, Pamela Ruel (Serge), Marty James (Jodie), Cindy James (Marc) and Kim Snider (Mike). “Mama” will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Justin, Lauren (Mark), Jason (Ashleigh), Joshua (Holly), Chantal (Gerry), Mathieu, Danielle, Caleb, Paige and Megan (Kyle) and beloved great grandchildren Marah and Daniel. Madelene was also survived by siblings Denis (Ruby), Diane, Celina (Fred), Joan, Richard, Bonnie (Leonard), Gail and Dolores (Kristopher) along with many nieces, nephews and extended family including sister-in-law Lona James and first husband and father to her children Neil James (Joanne). Predeceased by her parents Carmel and Dan Jeanneault
Maddy, as she was well known, retired from the Joint Hospital Laundry when it closed here in North Bay and always spoke fondly of her “work family”. She also worked the night shift at the Post Office and as one of the hardest workers around she had many other side jobs along the way. She was absolutely the kindest, sweetest most beautiful soul you could ever meet. She would give you, and literally has given, the shirt off her back. She spent her entire life devoted to making sure everyone was happy and safe. Her greatest and proudest accomplishment in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are all eternally grateful to her for showing us the meaning of family and for teaching us how to love and be loved.
