Dempsey, Margaret Helen (1954 – 2021) “Maggy” gained her angel wings on Saturday October 23, 2021 at the age of 67 with her family by her side.

Maggy was the loving and caring mother of Tristan Dempsey (Catharine), Manuel Boileau (Breanne), Brianna Dempsey (Dan Showers) and fur-baby Maverick. “Nana Dee” will be missed immensely by her five grandchildren Serena, Meara, Xavier, Lucien, and Carter. Also survived by her siblings Janie Whittemore (Eric), Bill Dempsey (Lynn Stankie), Barbie Currie (Cole) and Mary Dempsey (Bob Millar). Predeceased by her mother Anna Edna Dempsey.

A compassionate Nurse of 39 years, Maggy dedicated her golden heart to helping her patients, coworkers, and friends. She went above and beyond to get to know everyone who had the privilege to cross paths with her.

Her biggest love, however, was her family (including chosen family). She was a fun-loving Mom and Nana (to people and critters alike) who was forever up for an adventure. Maggy had a joy for life, she enjoyed music (the universal language), card-making, cake decorating, and playing games, to name a few. A silly person at heart, she always made everything more fun, using old traditions and creating new ones.

A big thank you to the C3 team, RT’s and Dr Jinnah at NBRHC. Also, a special thank you to the home care staff and the ALS Clinic at Sunnybrook Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Maggy to the ALS Society will be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Online memories, stories and condolences would be welcomed on Maggy’s personal Facebook page or online at Hillside Funeral Services (www.hillsidefuneral.ca).

Maggy’s wish would be for everyone to find the positives in everything and to “have lots of chuckles in your day.”

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
