It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maurice Bosselle, aged 88, who left this world surrounded by his cherished loved ones at the hospital.
Born on June 16, 1936, Maurice lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and warmth. He built a long and respected career with Ontario Lumber Manufactures Association, where his hard work and perseverance saw him rise through the ranks to become Chief Lumber Inspector — a role he took great pride in and fulfilled with unwavering commitment.
Maurice was the beloved husband of Joyce and a devoted father to Debbie (Tom), Ken, Barbara (Larry), and Maurice Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Crystal, Robert (Tory), Jennifer (Eric), Nick (Lauren), Maddison (Alisabelle), and Ben (Kaitie), and a joyful great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren who brought light to his later years.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Maurice had a rich life full of passions and pastimes that brought joy to those around him. A lifelong lover of country music, he could often be found with his guitar in hand, strumming familiar melodies and singing with heart. Music was not just a hobby for Maurice — it was a gift he shared freely, filling rooms and hearts with song.
A true Canadian at heart, Maurice was an enthusiastic hockey player in his younger years, proudly skating with the OHL’s London Knights. His love for the game stayed with him throughout his life. He especially enjoyed cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and found great joy in being at the rink, watching his grandchildren play hockey — moments that brought him immense pride and happiness.
Maurice was predeceased by his brothers Arthur and Peter (Flo). He is survived by his siblings George (Margot) and Joycie.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, his robust spirit, and the quiet strength he showed in both his work and his relationships. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the lives he touched.
A service to honour Maurice's life will be held on Monday, May 12th. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to join the family for a luncheon in the church basement following the service.
We would like to extend our thanks to the staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on floor B1 for their compassionate and extraordinary care during his journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the NBRHC Foundation B1 unit would be greatly appreciated by the family.
He will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
