Murray Mulvihill Obituary

Murray Joseph Mulvihill  June 27th, 1962 - January 19th, 2025

" It is more blessed to give than to receive "  Acts 20:35

Peacefully, surrounded by friends, Murray passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre

on Sunday January 19th, 2025, at the age of 62.

Survived by his sister Maureen Mulvihill and predeceased by his mother Laurie Mulvihill and

his partner Sharon Journeau.

Murray touched the lives of many people. He truly believed it was more blessed to give than to

receive. His generosity knew no bounds. He had the ability to make everyone feel special,

because to him, they were special.

In his younger years, Murray was an excellent athlete who excelled in hockey, football and

baseball. He was an avid sports fan his entire life.  He loved to converse and had the gift of gab.

Quick witted, full of stories and one liners, he would keep you on your toes and put a smile on

 your face.

Murray's passion was helping others and especially youth. He truly enjoyed his time working at

St. Joseph Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School. He had a way of connecting with people

and truly cherished the bonds and friendships he created with so many . As one colleague said,

" Murray was a great man with a huge heart. He touched the lives of so many young people. He

filled them with confidence. His kindness and generosity were legendary as were his stories "

Thank you to Dr. Terry Rotondo and to the team on A3 at the NBRHC, especially nurse Teegan ,

for their compassion and care of Murray in his final days.

A bursary in Murray's memory will be set up at St. Joseph Scollard Hall. Donations can be made

at the school or online at  sjsh.npsc.ca

As per Murray's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Friends are

invited to come celebrate his life on Saturday February 8th from 1-3PM at the Fox and

Fiddle. Online Condolences at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
