Olga (Melnyk) Harach

Harach, Olga (1930-2022)

Olga passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday April 10th, 2022 at the age of 92.

She is survived by her husband Peter Harach. Dear mother of Patricia Euler (David). Nanny Olga will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Kenneth (Jessica) and Eric, and by her great granddaughter Eleanor. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Joseph Melnyk and siblings Katherine Bird and Michael Melnyk.

Olga grew up on the family farm in Unionville. They grew vegetables, had an orchard for fruits and greenhouses for flowers. As a young lady, Olga attended hairdressing school and became a hairdresser.

Olga met a handsome Toronto policeman, Peter, they fell in love and were married July 25, 1953 in Toronto. Ukrainian culture was an important part of family life. Olga was an active member of the St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church and Ladies League in Thornhill.

Olga and Peter had a close-knit circle of friends and together they had many happy times. When their grandchildren were born, Olga and Peter moved to North Bay to be close to family.

As per her wishes a private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
