René De Bernardi

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of René De Bernardi on April 22nd at the age of 58 years old. René died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and two sons. He was the loving youngest son to René De Bernardi (deceased) and Claire Richard (deceased) and son in law to Gérard and Fernande Rochon.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years Denyse (Rochon) and his two adult sons, the pride of his life, Justin (Thomas) and Nikolas (Serena).

He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Gilles (Annette), Murielle (Madan), André, Céline (Pierre), Francine (Rodrigue), Marcel (Denise), Roch and Gaston (deceased), his sisters and brothers in law from the Rochon clan,  Jacqueline (Bruno), Diane (Dan), Gilles (Suzanne), Sylvie (Paul), Norm ( Dina), nieces and nephews, many dear colleagues and all his precious friends.

René was well known and respected business man. He began his career at La Caisse Populaire New Liskeard, then worked at l’Alliance des Caisses Populaires, at the Business Development Bank of Canada and for the last 7 years, was the Director, Commercial Credit at Caisse Populaire Alliance North Bay.  With his wife, René was owner of Print Three North Bay. He was also a proud member of Club Richelieu North Bay.

For the past 5 years, he fought a long and courageous battle against cancer (Multiple Myeloma). Now that the suffering has gone, babe, you can fly away with your new angel wings.

During this unprecedented situation, the family will hold a private ceremony.  Funeral services and celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
