After a valiant battle against multiple illnesses, Richard passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on June 20th.

It seemed too fast, but there was just enough time for good-byes. Richard is survived by his wife Donna (nee Pennell), sons Donald and Raymond, brothers Jack (Mary Cole), Marc (Carol Hollands), sisters Louise Scott (Roy), Pat Lehti (Jon), Helen Culhane (Rick), and Julie McFarland (Sean); and sister-in-law Shelley Wright (Vic Deschamps). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, their children and their grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents Albert and Madeleine (nee Villeneuve) Scully. Richard loved all of his large, extended family. He never missed a family reunion at La Jeunesse en Marche. Richard was an avid Boston Bruins fan. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed stand-up comedy. Richard had a secret desire to see Ron James live, which was fulfilled a few weeks ago. He achieved another life-long goal, to go whale watching, last summer in Nova Scotia.

Family receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd., on Thursday June 26, 2025 from 10 am until 12 noon a funeral service will follow.

Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or Ride for Dad, will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
