Obituary

Caranci, Richard Guy (1948-2023)- After a long and courageous 6 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease, it is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of our Beloved Rick (Rickey) on Saturday September 9, 2023, just a couple months shy of his 75th Birthday.

On his 40th day at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, our dear Rick passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Rick was the devoted spouse, Very Best Friend of 40 years and will be Very Deeply missed by Debbie (nee Bigelow). He also leaves behind and will be greatly missed by his Grandson Foster and remaining sibling, his sister Valerie (Haufe). Rick will be fondly remembered by all of the “In-Laws” and the many Nieces and Nephews on both his side and Debbie’s side of the families. “Uncle Rick”, being a “Big kid” at heart, dearly loved and made a lot of “Special Memories” with all of his Nieces and Nephews as they grew up, and always looked forward to the many family gatherings.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Valentino and Rheeta, his sister Kaaren, his brothers Peter and Paul and his son Stephen.

Rick lived and worked most of his life in North Bay and has touched the lives of many along the way. Anyone that knew Rick would remember that he was a big Sports Fan and loved his New York Yankees, New York Rangers and Hamilton Tiger Cats. He was also a big Music fan, with some of his favorites being Paul McCartney, Neil Young and Crosby Stills and Nash, just to name a few.

Let’s not forget his love of Cards, Cadillacs, Shooting Pool and eating PASTA, which he would’ve eaten 7 nights a week if Debbie had let him! Rick was a Very Proud and Humble Man, who lived his life with the cards he was dealt, whether they were good or bad.

For us remaining with saddened hearts, we take comfort in knowing Your pain and suffering is over, and You are now with Your Family and Friends that have passed before You.

“Rest In Peace” “Too Well Loved To Ever Be Forgotten”

In keeping with Rick’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. A private Family gathering, to lay Rick’s ashes to rest at St Mary’s Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family will be notified of the date and time once determined. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date for all Family and Friends to gather in honor of Rick. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or a Pet Rescue Facility of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

I’LL ALWAYS BE THANKFUL THAT WE FOUND OUR WAY BACK TO EACH OTHER ALL THOSE YEARS AGO
