After a long battle with cancer, Rick Martel passed away Thursday October 12th 2023. He was surrounded by love, thoughts and support near and far by many people.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Irene Martel, father John Martel (predeceased) his 3 daughters, Ashley, Nikita and Kayla as well as his 7 grandkids, Tyson, Liam, Finnley, Eli, Azalia, Grayson, Mya and his sister Sharon Martel (Ben)

Rick, Dad, was a hardworking, dedicated man who truly loved and appreciated the simple and most meaningful beauty's in life. In his youth he was the owner and operator of small businesses one being Ashley's Antiques where his passion and love for antiques and helping others began.

He was proud to drive around the city in his 1990 Lincoln Town car or sit with a friend enjoying a heartfelt conversation over a Tim Hortons coffee.

Rick loved and cherished every moment he spent with his friends and family. Cheech, his Rottweiler and Bacardi his cat were two of his favourites that never left his side.

Rick loved gardening, cooking, jewelry making, camping, fishing and waterfront walks.

Rick's impact and legacy on the community, friends and especially his family will never be forgotten. Rick Martel will always be cherished and loved.

Family receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Thursday October 26th from 1 until 3pm. A celebration of his life will follow at 3pm.
