Rita (Marchione) Dubeau

We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic and sudden passing of Rita Marchione Dubeau on Monday February 9, 2026, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. She was four months shy of her 60th birthday and was soon to retire from a distinguished 40-year career from NBRHC.

Rita is the very loved “Ma” of Alexa Dubeau and her partner Brianna Kisby. Her greatest joy was Alexa, whom she loved fiercely and spoke of with immense pride.  Also left to mourn this terrible loss is her mother, Rossana Marchione; her big brother Armando Marchione; her little sister Donna Backer (Cory); and her best friend and fierce defender for life, Irma Marchione (Sean).  Rita is the loved Zia to nieces Stefania Marchione (Jaren), Giulia Backer and nephew Anthony Backer. Her absence will also be felt by Alexa’s dad, Denis Dubeau.  Zia Maria Marchione will miss her daily visits with Rita.  Predeceased by her beloved father, Quinto, and Zizi Tony who are waiting in heaven for her to join them. 

Rita leaves behind her partner Gord McKenney and his children Brady (Kennedie), Drew (Dan), Parker (Emilie) and Nana to their babies Memphis, Hadley, Daisy, June, Jack. She will also be missed by Peter and Carole Livie, Joann (Dan), Terri (Albert), and Janice (Art).

Rita was such a positive light to everyone she met.  She exuded such beauty both inside and out.  Rita’s huge impact to so many was evident with the immense outpouring of support over the last few days.  This tragic event touched so many people.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Beautiful Rita at Hillside Funeral Services on Thursday February 12, 2026 between 1:00pm – 3:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday February 13, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Parish.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Rita can be made to the North Bay and District Humane Society or to the charity of your choice.

Rest easy Ma.  Your smile, love and light will be missed.
